§ 370. Penalties for Violation of Zoning Ordinance.

    Any person, persons, firm, association or corporation violating any provision of the Zoning Ordinance or any employee, assistant, agent, or any other person participating or taking part in, joining or aiding in a violation of any provision of the Zoning Ordinance may be prosecuted as provided by law for the violation of ordinances of the City and upon conviction shall be punished by a fine not exceeding five hundred dollars ($500.00) for any one (1) offense or imprisonment for not more than six (6) months, or both such fine and imprisonment. Each day a violation continues after service of written notice to abate such violation shall constitute a separate offense.

    The notice required in subsection 1 above shall be satisfied by any of the following: If a copy thereof is delivered to such person or persons personally; or the notice is left at the usual place of abode; or mailed by regular or certified or registered mail addressed to such person or persons at their last known addresses; or, if the regular or certified or registered letter is returned undelivered, by posting a copy thereof in a conspicuous place in or about the premises affected by such notice.

    In addition to the penalties hereinabove authorized and established, the Prosecuting Attorney shall take such other actions at law or in equity as may be required to halt, terminate, remove, or otherwise eliminate any violations of this Zoning Ordinance.
